Professional Secrets For Kitchen Grease Removal
Kitchen grease removal is an essential part of maintaining a hygienic commercial kitchen. Kitchen grease doesn’t just look unsightly, it can also pose a health hazard and even a fire risk.
Kitchen grease splashes during cooking, or evaporates. It then condenses, coming to rest on worktops, walls, units, ducts and more. Excessive kitchen grease can also cause bad cooking smells which are never good for business!
The Health and Safety Executive recommends that commercial kitchens have a regular deep clean to ensure thorough kitchen grease removal from worktops, walls and even in ducts.
Whilst commercial kitchen deep cleaning is best carried out by specialists trained to remove even the most ingrained kitchen grease, there are things you can do in-between deep cleans to help keep your kitchen hygienically clean and rid it of grease deposits.
Break down the grease with vinegar
Take a natural approach to kitchen grease removal by mixing 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts water.
Soak the stain, then wipe the mixture away and rinse with water.
Create a paste
If your grease stains are on a vertical surface combine 3 tablespoons of baking soda with a cup of water and smear the paste over the stain.
Rub the stain in a circular motion to remove the stain, then rinse the area thoroughly.
Beware- never use baking soda or cream cleaner on chrome or metallic appliances as it may scratch.
Remove grease from appliances
If you have grease-covered appliances, soak them in undiluted white vinegar for ten minutes before wiping them with a water-soaked cloth and then drying them.
Create a sugar soap solution
Another option to remove those really stubborn grease deposits on the tops of units and appliances, is to use one part sugar soap to ten parts warm water to keep the grease and grime at bay.
