The exact length of time will depend on the number of carpets that must be cleaned, the complexity of the property’s layout and the current condition of the carpets.
However, we tend to say that the average lounge carpet – measuring around 20sqm – will take a little more than an hour to clean.
This depends on the number of pieces that require cleaning and their current condition. However, a typical sofa designed to seat three individuals should take between one and two hours to clean thoroughly.
Your carpets should be dry in 2 – 4 hours – and may take a little longer depending on the material from which they are made and the temperature or humidity of a room.
Sofas and other upholstery may dry in as little as four hours too, but may take up to 24 hours – again, depending on what they are made of and the environment in which they are placed, with aspects such as heat and ventilation affecting the drying speed.
Our experienced and qualified teams will move almost all types of free standing furniture to make sure that our carpet cleaning reaches as far as we can to all parts of the rooms. Only delicate furniture such as pianos, stocked drinks cabinets and heavy wardrobes won’t be moved.
Absolutely, we have good success rates with most stains – the team at Rainbow International are highly experienced in tackling a range of stains, spills and discolouration on surfaces of all kinds and restoring them to their previous condition.
Steam cleaning should not cause any damage to your carpets as long as the correct tools and settings are used, and the carpet is dried quickly.
It is always best to hire a professional to deep clean carpets to ensure that the approach taken is suitable for the carpets in your property.
We highly recommend leaving your windows open (if security allows this) after your carpets have been cleaned, as good ventilation can speed up the drying process and prevent the development of a musty smell.
Where possible, we would recommend that the heating is switched on to normal room temperature (20-21 deg c) which will help the carpets dry and the moisture leave through vented windows and open doors.
The average household should get their carpets cleaned every 12 to 18 months – but if your household includes children or pets, or if you enjoy outdoor pursuits such as hiking or gardening that means you may occasionally bring mud inside, you may wish to do it more often.
