A simple, effective and accurate way to locate leaks
A water leak is the last thing you want to deal with in your property – especially if you have a business to run or nowhere else to stay. That’s why we’re here to help you pinpoint the exact source of a leak with our acoustic leak detection solution.
Acoustic leak detection is an accurate and non-invasive method of leak detection. It requires the use of specialist acoustic and electro-acoustic listening ‘sticks’ or devices that enable our team to amplify, filter and process ‘leak noise’ – that is, the sound of any buried (or insulated) water pipes with suspected leaks.
An acoustic leak detection device is capable of distinguishing the sound of a water leak compared to the sound of water flowing through your pipes as it normally would. It then amplifies the noise level so that our specialists can hear the leak. It’s a simple yet effective way of pinpointing its exact location.
Our acoustic testing tools use highly sensitive microphones to detect leaks deep underground. The good news is that these devices filter out any background noise and only amplify the sound of the leak to ensure an accurate reading.
The time it takes to detect a leak using an acoustic testing device completely depends on the severity of the problem and whether the type of pipe material, as well as its length and internal diameters, is known. If you notice any water loss or other signs of a leak in your property, give us a call immediately on 01623 422488 for details.
Unlike other, more invasive methods of leak detection, acoustic testing is a fast, accurate and cost-effective solution that causes absolutely no damage to your property.
While acoustic testing doesn’t require us to dig up the pipes in your home, repairs will. Once we’ve detected the location of a leak using acoustic testing devices, we’ll excavate the area to expose the source. If the need arises, we can also repair the damage for you at an extra cost.
No, acoustic testing is a safe and effective method of leak detection that we highly recommend when thermal imaging isn’t appropriate.
