Driven by Purpose – Meet the Latest Addition to Our EV Fleet
In a bid to move forward with our commitment to the planet and reach our overarching goal of Net Zero emissions, we’ve made significant progress in our roadmap towards the integration of Electric Vehicle (EV) technology within our fleet. This effort aims to address the significant proportion of our Co2 emissions that stem from our customer serving vehicles.
We are thrilled to announce that Dayna and David Clarence, branch owners of Rainbow Restoration Northampton, have embraced this green initiative by introducing their very first EV to their fleet.
Current technology allows us to utilise EVs for shorter distance journeys where heavy equipment is not required to be transported. For example, Dayna and David’s EV will be used for routine tasks such as meeting clients, visiting NFUM branches and conducting site audits.
Every time this vehicle is used, we reduce fuel emissions in favour of green energy. These carbon savings can then be passed on to our customers and partners, resulting in lower CO2 emissions associated with our services.
Whilst the technology advances, we’re committed to integrating EVs into our company wherever possible and advocating for the benefits of this technology whenever the opportunity arises.
When we asked Dayna what motivated her to choose an EV, she responded: ‘The obvious answer is we are trying to think about our children’s future and if we can have a little impact then that’s our goal, but we also saw the advantage of the tax savings on the EV.’
We also asked her what excites her the most about using her EV, and she added: ‘The technology really excites me, it feels very futuristic!’
We’re over the moon that many of our network members have taken the leap toward more sustainable operations, enhancing our collective effort to #RestoreThePlanet. As we continue our commitment to eco-friendly travel, we’re exploring innovative charging solutions to enhance the viability of network wide adoption and investing in research to push the boundaries of current EV technology.
Keep your eyes peeled for our next update, where we’ll check in with Dayna after she’s had a chance to experience the benefits of going electric and can share her insights on the transition.
