Simon Ford appointed chairman of the BDMA
Simon Ford, Rainbow International’s Operations Director has recently been appointed as Chairman of the British Damage Management Association (BDMA).
The BDMA is the restoration industry’s certifying authority and is committed to raising industry standards, providing accreditation for professional practitioners and facilitating recognition of specialist services in the recovery and restoration sector.
Simon has been involved with the BDMA in a variety of roles over several years and has made a significant contribution to the organisations growth and the professional standards they promote amongst their membership.
On his appointment as Chairman, Simon said, ‘I am immensely proud to be asked to take on the role of Chairman and appreciate the faith shown in me by the Executive Committee”.
‘Having now worked in the damage management industry for the past 32 years I feel I have great industry experience to help me step into the Chairman’s position.
‘Moving forward to 2016-17, I will be working with colleagues at the BDMA to deliver more member benefits in the form of a better educational platform especially in the Commercial Damage Management arena, a better membership journey through training and a better awareness of our industry values across the wider insurance industry.
‘My first meeting as the Chairman will be talking to industry leaders about the benefits of BS12999 and how it can help with the Business Emergency Resilience Group, which will further demonstrate the benefits membership of the BDMA delivers on a daily basis. Hopefully this will be the first of many opportunities to spread the word during my term in office.’
