Why High-Level Window Cleaning is Harder Than You Think

Window cleaning high buildings is harder than you think.

In our recent article, ‘Extreme tall building cleaning’, we looked at some of the issues that impact cleaning windows of the tallest buildings in the world. In addition to these, when window cleaning at height, you also have the safety and wellbeing of those working or using the area around you to consider.

Often, window cleaners, many of whom prefer to call themselves window washers, have to work at speed in order to get through all the windows they have to clean on any given structure.

They may get some great views, but it can be a long and tedious job with many not using phones or iPods whilst they are working to avoid the risk of these gadgets and devices falling onto people below.

However, getting that streak-free finish wherever you are is quite an art form.

In fact, this year saw the inaugural Window Cleaning World Cup take place in London at The Cleaning Show in Excel, London.

The Window Cleaning World Cup was adjudicated by the Federation of Window Cleaners (FWC) and the Guinness World Records.

Competitors were given 9 litres of water and a 300mm squeegee and were tasked to clean three office style windows thoroughly in the fastest time possible. The winner of the World Cup was Jeremiah Hickey who managed to clean all three windows in just 17.02 seconds.

Whilst Rainbow can’t offer to clean your windows quite this fast, we’re pretty fast from quote to clean. We clean your windows quickly and thoroughly, leaving a streak-free finish and ensuring that any cleaning carried out at height is done so safely.
